Great XD Time to write that down on the schedule. Can't wait until the anime airs.
Besides they main God Eater Story, I wonder if they'll do the Burst story as well?

OLDCODEX to perform opening theme for series debuting on July 5 During a stage presentation at the "Machi Asobi 14" event in Tokushima on Sunday, animation studio ufotable revealed the first promotional video for the upcoming anime adaptation of its God Eater game series. The video revealed that the series will star Ryūichi Kijima (Beast Saga's Argyllo, Beyblade: Shogun Steel's Torimaki B) as the protagonist Renka Utsugi. Renka, who is an original character, is a new "God Arc" (Jin-ki) weapon user. The staff chose Kijima for the role after auditioning more than 100 people. Dengeki Online and Famitsu have both posted images from the new promotional video. ufotable will release the video publicly in the future. Yeah, it's quite annoying when people compare things to AoT. The first episode was.... okay, I guess? Nothing too amazing..... Lenka's personality is as expected..... And I think they'll change things from the game's story..... I'm still a bit iffy about the animation though. ^^;;

OP is being purged from YT already. But I've watched it so many times looking for little details.
Things I liked: Lenka walks past Johannes, gets his bracelet. Past Tsubaki he gets his uniform, and past Licca he gets his God Arc. After he walks past Lindow, he catches Lindow's lighter before the team engage a blacked out Dyaus Pita. I thought those touches were neat.
Also notice how Lenka sees a horde of Aragami and looks angered but his anger disappears when he sees his comrades. Probably a foreshadowing of his growth through the series.
I've also seen comments calling it an AoT clone, ha ha! Ah well. We know GE was around long before the AoT anime. Opinions seem fairly mixed right now, but the positives outweigh the negatives. I absolutely loved every second. I know the minor negativity will die down. There's a lot of people expecting a successor to Fate/stay Night and that's the last thing you want to compare GE to.

The whole god eater tag is full of GIF and reaction posts of the episode.
Apart from AoT, there was another one that said it had a Freedom Wars feel... though I haven't played it I'm pretty much sure those two are different.
It's like when it first came out and got compared to MH... but that was more acceptable in a sense...

Freedom Wars is sort of acceptable, since they did get made by the same studio or something. Though yeah, they're actually pretty different.

Yes, the flashbacks seem like a nice touch to the anime - it would give more depth to many things. I will wait until the anime finishes so I start watching, since I'm going to watch it with my sister. Too bad the last episodes got delayed until January.  |
